Job description

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Engineering to join our team at Swissotel Corniche Park Towers, Qatar. As a key member of our senior leadership, you will drive innovation, lead multiple engineering teams, and oversee critical projects that shape the future of our organization.

• Develop and execute strategic engineering initiatives aligned with organizational goals
• Lead and mentor a diverse team of engineering professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
• Oversee multiple complex engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and budget adherence
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development and process improvements
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to solve complex engineering challenges
• Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively
• Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies
• Implement and maintain robust quality control processes and safety standards
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and partners
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and methodologies
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or related field; advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred
• 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering roles, including significant time in senior management positions
• Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale, complex engineering projects
• Strong technical knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop talent
• Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills
• Superior communication and interpersonal abilities
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution
• Strong business acumen and financial management skills
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools
• In-depth understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
• Ability to drive technological advancements and process improvements
• Passion for innovation and a commitment to continuous learning
• Experience working in a global, multicultural environment is a plus
