Draftsman

Job description / Role

Job Summary:

The Draftsman is responsible for the preparation of designs and drawings using AutoCAD and ensuring that design drawings conform to specifications provided. The role will create and coordinate Building Information Models for large mall project design and construction, using knowledge of construction process and applicable building codes. The Draftsman will also coordinate development permits and building permits for new construction builds throughout Qatar, liaising with the Technical team

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Liaise with technical team to gather requirements and designs
- Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials
- Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Design diagrams and layouts to illustrate workflow
- Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the technical team
- Identify potential operational issues and redesign drawings to improve functionality
- Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards

Requirements

- Proven work experience as a Draftsman or similar role
- Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Familiarity with 3D modeling tools
- Good math skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- BSc in Engineering, Architecture or degree from a technical college
