Charterhouse is working with a publicly traded Qatari conglomerate, which is considered to be one of the largest trading companies in the region. Our client has businesses within all major sectors, such as Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Automotive and Materials. The Drilling and Geotechnical Manager will be assigned to the Geological Division, which provides borehole drilling, ground investigation and laboratory testing services to its regional and international clients.

This role will manage the day-to-day operations in the Drilling and Geotechnical department. This includes management and preparations of cost estimates and quotations, business development, operations and workshop team management and client relationship management.

In conjunction, this Senior position will look to ensure all borehole drilling, ground investigation and laboratory equipment are calibrated and maintained, where applicable and creating operational and technical programs, ensuring overall output is efficient. You will be responsible for the proper planning of the works and performance (including financial) of the resources.

The Drilling and Geotechnical Manager will coordinate with the General Manager to identify and provide relevant training to employees, whilst ensuring health, safety and quality management systems across the department are in place and being adhered to.

This role will require the incumbent to initiate and maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, planning and presenting departments budgets, monthly reporting and operational financial reports.

Requirements

The client will look to recruit an experienced Drilling and Geotechnical professional, whom is able to demonstrate a sustained track record (10 years min) within an international or regional Geotechnical Contractor or Site Investigation Department within a Management role.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge in borehole drilling, ground investigation works and geotechnical laboratory testing with large-scale hydrogeological and geophysical site surveying projects. The selected candidate will hold a master’s Degree in Geology or a specific Engineering field, from an internationally recognised University. Candidates holding Professional Memberships or Chartered status will also be considered as a priority.
