Driver - Automotive Vehicle Yard

Job description / Role

Maintain the new vehicle in the storage yard as per GM standard, transporting the new cars to the respective locations/ customers with proper transfer sheets/ Delivery notes & supporting documents in safe condition and obtaining the acknowledgement from the concerned in the required manner that they have received the vehicle in proper conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Vehicle Receiving and maintenance when need arises.

• Assist the yard controller in inspecting the vehicle for physical damages and listing down the missing accessories.
• Assist the Yard vehicle maintenance team leader in maintaining the new vehicles in the yard, wash the vehicle using soap, wipe and store the vehicle in the yard to avoid white spot on vehicle.
• Keep the engine on of each vehicle in the running position for ½ an hour to recharge the battery
• Run the vehicle around the yard to avoid flat spot on Tyres.
• Any other job that are required for the smooth functioning of the department and requested by the yard controller.

Vehicle Transfer and Delivery

• Collect the New vehicle for PDI from the New vehicle yard using tow truck, inspect the vehicle for any damages and missing items and report to the yard controller, write the damages/missing accessories in the vehicle transfer sheet and handover the transfer sheet to the respective yard controllers.
• Deliver the vehicle in the respective locations instructed by the yard controller either by driving or by using tow trucks as instructed by the yard controller.
• Check the condition of the vehicle and accessories before taking the possession of the vehicle for delivery and notify the damages/missing items in the vehicle transfer sheets and bring it to the notice of the yard controller.
• Collect the signature of the person who receives the vehicle and submit the acknowledged transfer sheet to the yard controller for records.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the vehicle before it is delivered to the customer/showrooms. If vehicles are dirty, report to the yard controller and arrange to clean it before it is taken for delivery. Also make sure that no unwanted objects are lying inside the car.
• Drive the staff transportation car and do the messenger work whenever required by the department and requested by the yard controller.
• Collect any materials that are required by the department with proper documents.

Requirements

• MUST HAVE LICENSE FOR QATAR DRIVING LIGHT VEHICLES with around 5 years’ experience with Qatar road
• Experience INCLUDING driving of BREAKDOWN PICKUPS (Tow truck)
• Ability to communicate in English
