Job description / Role
- Supervises and coordinates activities of ELECTRICIAN, MAINTENANCE and ELECTRICIAN engaged in construction, maintenance and repair of electric power, lighting, and communication systems of buildings, factories, and transportation equipment: Plans wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures, such as motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers, and fuse boxes, according to blueprints, schematic drawings, and sketches.
- Inspects wiring and fixtures for conformance to company specifications or local electrical codes, using test equipment, such as voltmeter and ohmmeter.
- Performs other duties as described under SUPERVISOR Master Title.
- May supervise workers engaged in maintenance of electrical systems and be designated Building-Maintenance Supervisor, Electrical; Electrician Supervisor, Maintenance.
- May supervise workers specializing in electrical systems of transportation equipment and be designated Electrician Supervisor, Airplane; Electrician Supervisor, Automotive; Electrician Supervisor, Locomotive.
- May be designated according to workers supervised as Circuit-Breaker Supervisor; Power-Transformer-Repair Supervisor; Service-Transformer-Repair Supervisor.
Requirements
- Graduate of Engineering or any relevant degree
- Experience in water desalination is required
- Thorough knowledge of the standard practices, tools and terminology of the electrical trade
- Thorough knowledge of electrical theory
- Thorough knowledge of the safety hazards of the work and of the necessary safety precautions
- Ability to make repairs to complicated electrical wiring, fixtures and equipment
- Ability to plan and supervise the work of subordinates
- Ability to perform manual work over extended periods of time
- Skill in the use of electrical maintenance and repair equipment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates
