Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of Systems Installation Engineer is to monitor work carried out on various construction / Metro sites to ensure safety and quality is upheld and ensuring the installation reflects the approved design drawings. They will need to carry out regular inspections, checking quality of work, searching out any defects / snags, and then reporting all findings to the construction management team.

Managing a small team of site inspectors to ensure all systems installations reflect design.

Oversee Quality Assurance and ensure successful completion of assurance documentation.

Daily and weekly reporting to the construction management team.

Able to monitor installation progress against programme making sure key milestone dates are hit.

Learn to identify opportunities for increased efficiency in completion/field operations practices. Focus on value added techniques that balance safety with increased productivity.

Work with site inspectors, construction team and health and safety team to coordinate best practices and ensure accurate and efficient flow of information.

Ability to check quality of work and take necessary steps to prevent possible non conformances, ensuring that all non-conformances are reported and rectified.

Ability to liaise and co-ordinate with the HSE team, safety measures that must be implemented and adhered too.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with good knowledge of Rail / Metro systems with a minimum 5 years’ experience in installations on rail systems projects.

Must have a minimum 5 years supervisory experience.

Must be fluent in English with good written and oral communication skills.

Must have good attention to detail.

Must be organized and have a practical approach to any issues arising on site.

Must be familiar with different international standards relating to building regulations and H&S regulations.

Management and negotiation skills – being able to effectively communicate with team members.

Able to work with a range of multi-disciplined operatives / engineers.

A good understanding of technical plans and drawings is essential.

Must be able to endure being on site in very hot climate conditions.
