Job description / Role
Engineer - electrical (pump stations)
Main Purpose of the Job:
As the Assistant engineer - electrical you will be supporting the Senior Engineer on the design review of a large tunnelling project in Doha.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
* Managing the technical approval of the utility companies
* Review conducting primary technical reviews on assigned prime contractor's design deliverables related to electrical equipment/system design and calculations
* Review Single line (SLDs) Schematic and cable block diagram
* Provide assistance Review relevant technical specifications and procurement
* Communicate with stakeholders at a technical level sufficient to get designs and documentation approved by approving authorities
* Help in conducting technical design reviews and procedures in order to ensure approvals where relevant and to prepare technical reports on findings
* Assist the evaluation and advise on electrical related design changes and non-conformances to ensure fulfillment of the requirements
* Support the development of required documentation for the design review process in order to include comments, recommendations and corrective action plans for the prime contractor as appropriate
Requirements
Essential Candidate Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical engineering from an accredited university
* Professional Engineering Registration or a Chartered Engineer from a recognized professional institution
* Minimum 10 years demonstrable experience of similar works
* Must have experience in reviewing and approving of design documents and drawings associated with the design of electrical power supply (HV/LV) electrical plant design (motors, MCC, power supply) control philosophy and all that would be associated with deep storm water/sewerage pumping stations and other associated process type buildings
* Shall be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the following
* Deep well storming water pumping station design
* Design for electrical plant (motors, MCC, power supply)
* Design of electrical power supply (HV & LV)
* Knowledge of electrical design software AMTECH & ETAP
* Peer review electrical contract documents, calculations & reports
* Knowledge of electrical specifications and datasheets
* Pumping station control design - Control Philosophy
* Detailed understanding of P&ID
* Design of communication network systems
* Peer review ICA contract documents, calculations & reports
* Knowledge of ICA specifications and datasheets
* Knowledge of testing and commissioning (FAT & SAT).
* Experience with Site inspection and supervision of contractors.
