Wood is actively seeking expressions of interest for a senior rotating engineer role to support future growth in our expanding business.
The projects team focuses on delivering across FEED, Pre-FEED, Brownfield, and Greenfield scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of project work in accordance with the project execution plan, including Wood and/or project procedures on safety and quality control within the man-hour, cost, and project schedule targets.
This is a long-term assignment based in Qatar.
Responsibilities
The senior rotating engineer will be responsible for:
- Applying mechanical engineering rotating/static practices, standards, and design codes.
- Challenging the project design assumptions and striving to bring more value to the project (value engineering).
- Providing innovative solutions to overcome project challenges including cost and schedule while still maintaining compliance with the design codes.
- Assisting mechanical engineers in delivering and reviewing engineering deliverables.
- Compiling information from contractor reports; evaluating and analyzing compiled information using mechanical engineering standards and codes.
- Providing directions and actively participating in the engineering reviews and meetings and taking the lead when required.
- Contributing to recording the meetings and discussions.
- Coordinating, preparing, and making a recording of engineering reviews as assigned by the lead mechanical engineering static.
- Following up on the turnover of the mechanical engineering documents.
- Participating in equipment selection and procurement processes.
- Attending workshops and site inspections of mechanical facilities as the plan permits.
- Inspecting project sites to monitor HSE, progress, and ensure conformance to design specifications and project standards.
- Preparing and delivering presentations on certain subjects as the project develops.
- Performing other relevant duties as requested from time to time.

Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Must have strong FEED, Pre-FEED, and detailed design experience.
- Experience in mega projects developments.
