Events & Exhibitions Manager - Qatar Airways - Doha

Qatar Airways has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Events professional to manage Qatar Airways’ events and exhibitions including new destinations and product launches, major air shows, group-wide and internal events.

Key responsibilities include the following:
* End-to-end management of assigned events including the planning process and preparation to ensure excellent and controlled execution
* Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the area of events and exhibitions
* Prepare and manage the yearly events and exhibitions budgets in line with Qatar Airways’ corporate strategy
* Prepare and secure budgets for assigned event and exhibitions and ensure effective use to avoid unnecessary expenditures. Ensure that all events, exhibitions and associated projects are executed within assigned budgets.
* Manage relationships and interactions with various HQ departments, field offices and Liaise with third party vendors such as event management companies, contractors, hotels, venues, organisers and suppliers to ensure all logistical and operational aspects of each event and exhibition combines to create experiences which result in best-in-class across the airline industry.
* For each event, develop a detailed resource staff planning roster to avoid unnecessary deployment times and to maximize efficiency/productivity.

Requirements

You will have a Bachelors Degree (or Higher) with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in developing, planning and executing successful events and exhibitions.

In addition, you will have the following experience and skills set:
* Strong client service focus
* Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Strong project management background including excellent organizational and time management skills
* Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
* Experience with budget forecasting and tracking
* Experience of managing multiple vendors and multiple projects simultaneously
* Ability to enforce decisions and immediate action
* Able to communicate in multi-cultural environment
* Experience with and good understanding of international premium brands
* Network of international contacts, and able to manage relationships
* Confident and self-driven, and able to deliver results under intense time pressures Command of English language
* Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.

It is important to note that the selected person must be able to travel frequently and sometimes on short notice.
