Job overview

Join our outstanding team at Sherborne Qatar

Sherborne Qatar, a prestigious British school in Doha, is seeking a passionate and experienced EYFS teacher to join our dynamic team from January 2026. As a member of Qatar’s Supreme Education Council’s Outstanding Schools Programme, we take pride in our commitment to academic excellence and character development. Our affiliation with the historic Sherborne School in the UK, founded in 1550, ensures a legacy of high-quality education and holistic student growth.

About us

At Sherborne Qatar, we prioritize academic success, small class sizes, exceptional pastoral care, and an extensive extracurricular programme to develop well-rounded, high-achieving pupils. We are committed to fostering creativity, communication, curiosity, independence, risk-taking, and resilience in our students.

The role

We are looking for a passionate EYFS teacher who is committed to providing high-quality education and inspiring young learners. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving school and make a meaningful impact on pupils’ academic and personal development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with school curricular aims.
  • Provide suitable academic challenges that enable each pupil to reach their potential.
  • Foster a positive, well-disciplined classroom environment.
  • Assess pupils' work effectively and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain up-to-date curriculum knowledge.
  • Communicate regularly with pupils, parents, colleagues, and senior leaders.
  • Contribute to the school’s extracurricular and enrichment programmes.
  • Undertake pastoral duties, including acting as a form teacher.
  • Support school-wide initiatives, events, and inter-house competitions.
  • Participate in professional development and training (INSET & CPD).

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • A DfE-recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent) in EYFS, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2 from a UK university.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching in a primary setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passion for education and commitment to pupils’ success.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Recent teaching experience in the UK.
  • Experience teaching in a British curriculum school.
  • A willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities.

Please note: Due to Qatar’s work visa regulations, applicants must be under the age of 50.

Safeguarding and child protection

Sherborne Qatar is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All staff must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). In accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance, an online search will be conducted as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
