Thales in Qatar is part of our Middle East business that has 1,800 people across Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, KSA, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar and UAE. Our people are working on two major urban rail projects; the Doha Metro and Lusail Tramway and providing security and communications systems for Hamad International Airport and Doha Port as well as delivering world-class In-Flight entertainment and Connectivity systems.

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A "FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER, I N-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS & CONNECTIVITY" TO JOIN THE THALES IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT TEAM IN DOHA, QATAR.

The Field Service Engineer will provide on-site technical support to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide timely in-airline and on-wing support on Thales IFE system in terms of fly-along support, entry-into-service support, in-service fault finding and diagnosis, carry out corrective action.
- Due to service pattern of aircraft, such services may be carried out during irregular hours or during off duty days.
- Provide quality information and communications to customers for proper operation and/or good understanding of issues.
- Provide value-add feedback to Thales Avionics IFE in terms of issue encountered, analysis results and possible improvement plan.
- Work closely with Thales IFE Technical Support team on all technical issues related to IFE system (System failures, Network issues, Fiber optic issues…). Ensure good communication with Dubai based regional team and central office based in Irvine California.
- Evaluate the needs of the customers and relate details to appropriate internal departments.
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.
- Participate actively in any retrofits and / or the entry into service of new systems at assigned customers.
- Work actively with the assigned customers to gather reliability data for all Thales IFE equipment.

Requirements

- Diploma/Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Aviation Industry in an Avionics/IFE role.
- Capability to comprehend and follow instructions, procedures, diagrams, manuals and to comprehend and follow verbal instruction.
- Working knowledge of relevant aviation documents such as ICD, AMM, IPC, WDM, and SCM preferable.
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic and digital networks and the relevant software protocols.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex networks.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Fluency in English is a must.
