Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:
Develop and implement QPM's financial strategy and funds management plans to support the company; safeguard QPM’s financial interests through proactive reporting, analyses, improvements, compliance and risk management.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Implement the company’s financial strategies and policies in alignment with QPM’s growth and services objectives
• Ensure alignment of financal strategies to company’s business goals
• Establish the company’s finance and accounting department.
• Lead the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Advise the CEO on financial feasibility of various business matters.
• Lead the financial planning, control and reporting operations of the company
• Establish and approve policies and standards for financial management.
• Establish service level standards and guide the finance team in providing services as per defined expectations.
• Ensure integration of finance and accounting processes with IT systems.
• Facilitate the process of budgeting for the organization.
• Monitor the performance of departments and the organization against the defined budget performance parameters.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports ensuring timeliness and adherence to accounting standards.
• Directs and oversees treasury, budgeting, services costing, accounting, long range financial planning, and credit insurance activities for the organization.
• Ensure monthly analysis of profit projections on every active project.
• Facilitate internal and statutory audits and implement audit recommendations approved by management.
• Oversee all internal transactions and compliance to set standards, accounting, disbursement of salaries and accounts payable to vendors etc.
• Lead fund management operations for the company
• Forecast working capital requirements of the organization and manage funding from various sources.
• Manage the risk of foreign exchange rate fluctuations.
• Manage funding for project operations.
• Determine tax implications of proposed overseas projects and as needed seek third party experts.
• Provide leadership to and develop the financial department
• Conduct goal setting and performance appraisals for finance and accounts team leaders.
• Provide appropriate training opportunities for skill and functional/global knowledge development.
• Communicate information, policies and decisions to departmental employees in a timely manner.
• Review team performance and oversee linkages with compensation, promotion, career and succession planning.
• Ensure effective implementation of all applicable organizational policies & procedures in department.
• Create industry networks and benchmarking opportunities
• Establish and develop professional relationships with peer professionals in the industry.
• Maintain awareness of industry best practices.
• Adapt and adopt leading financial management and accounting concepts and best practices into QPM.
• Ensure regulatory compliance
• Ensure compliance with the requirements of all relevant financial standards such as IFRS, GAAP and authenticity of Financial Reports.
• Ensure that all expenditure of funds complies with organizational guidelines on fraud avoidance and misuse of organizational funds
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations

Requirements

• Graduate in Finance or Business; Preferably a holder of CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent certification;
• At least 15 years in Accounting & Financial Management, with minimum 3 years as the Head of Finance in a services company, preferably in a Project Management and Construction Management organization.
