Job description / Role
The Fuels Electrician performs electrical repairs in support of periodic maintenance, reconstitution, storage and deployment of Fuels assets in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and applicable USAF requirements. Follows procedures to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
Principal Accountabilities
- Compiles with all standard operating procedures, work instructions, USAF Technical Orders, Industrial safety and environmental policies.
- Inspects, tests, repairs and maintains electrical systems on Fuels assets.
- Uses and interprets wiring diagrams, test equipment and special tools.
- Charges and repairs air conditioning systems.
- Maintains and stores out-loud items: wet and dry charged batteries, electrolyte, battery clamps and other required equipment.
- Keeps a stock of charged batteries in accordance with the PWS and as directed by supervision.
- Maintains the battery charging room if applicable.
- Fits and removes batteries on receipt or out-loud of Fuels assets.
- Assists Fuels Technicians as required with Fuels maintenance actions.
- Reports worn or broken tools to Fuels supervision and identifies new tool requirements.
- Documents time sheets and work orders.
- Cleans inside and outside work areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Works in maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at an intermediate level.
- Ability to read and comprehend all required publications and electrical system schematics.
- Capacity to work effectively with diverse workforce encompassing different cultural backgrounds.
- Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
- May be required to operate material handling and light to heavy military type vehicles/equipment.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Satisfactory completion of formal training.
- Two years experience as an electrician required.
- May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.
- Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
- Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs. and performing extensive work handling/lifting equipment.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- An apprenticeship in electrical engineering preferred.
- Three years experience as an electrician required.
