Rixos Qetaifan Island North

Opening 2022, Rixos Doha Qetaifan will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sq m of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park and a waterpark. The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Slated to make its debut right before the World Cup, Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country's biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North's waterpark attraction The Icon Tower, the world's highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres in height.

Gardner - Waterpark

This position is responsible for the Waterpark Landscaping works of the waterpark area, daily operations, assets, equipment, and property outside area maintenance and repair works.

What you will be doing:

- The ability to Install and maintain seasonal plants
- The ability to Mow, trim and fertilize green spaces
- The ability to Mulch, edge, and weed gardens
- The ability to Prune and trim trees and bushes
- The ability to Maintain all gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
- The ability to Monitor and maintain the health of plants
- The ability to Deal with pest problems that could damage plants
- The ability to Plant and maintain healthy growth of trees, lawns, turf, shrubs, hedges, ground cover, and other plants
- The ability to Coordinate gardening assignments with college activities
- The ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to power equipment and tools commonly used in gardening and grounds maintenance
- The ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to sprinkler systems
- The ability to Identify diseased plants and pest infestation and take proper corrective measures
- The ability to directly supervise personnel in carrying out work schedules as well as spot-checking to verify quality and employee performance.
- The ability to ensure effective communication and good relations between the engineering department and other departments in the water park.
- The ability to prepare and follow through on any projects as outlined by senior management.
- The ability to always conduct oneself in a professional manner to reflect the high standards of Rixos Brand and encourage colleagues to do the same.
- The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed.
- To regularly update the departmental Training Program and ensure that staff have worked through the program and have completed them
- To ensure that the Department staff complies with Health and Safety Regulations and that the work that is highlighted as a Health and Safety issue is attended to appropriately

Requirements

Your experience and skills include:

- Qualification Gardner landscaping certificate or related degree/diploma
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar capacity with proven track records
- Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
- Waterpark experience will be preferred.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferably also Maintenance Software and BMS software knowledge
- Blueprints reading knowledge
- Service-oriented with an eye for details
- Well-presented and professionally groomed at all times
