Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Position Summary:

- Responsible for preparing and documenting salaries/overtime in compliance with Accor policies and local law.
- Maintain the Hotel's house banks in accordance to policies.
- Ensure that the remittance procedures are adhered to and daily banking of cash receipts.
- Perform any reasonable task requested by the Financial Controller/Executive Director of Finance.

It is not the intent of this job description to cover all aspects of the position but to highlight the most important areas of responsibility.

Core Work Activities:

General cashiering responsibilities:

- Ensure that the House Bank, Remittance and Foreign Exchange Policies and procedures are enforced / followed.
- Ensure all floats are supported by approved house bank contracts and recipient fully understands contract as per hotel policy.
- Perform monthly counts of General Cashier fund and 75% of floats. Each float must be counted at least every two months per hotel policy.
- Witness (by signature) all drop safe(s), opening of safe and counting of floats - reconciling to drop sheet per hotel policy.
- Daily banking - collect banking envelopes from safe, open, count and balances to prepare for banking per hotel policy.
- Process Petty cash and as required and reconcile weekly.
- Prepare over and shorts, balance monthly and give to Financial Controller.
- Issue and return of house bank contracts as required and prepare House bank accounts summary on a monthly basis in accordance with the hotel policy.
- Process Due backs daily.
- Process checks returned by bank.
- Liaise with Department Heads about cashiering problems.
- Liaise with Income Auditor.
- Monitor hotel exchange rates and adjust as necessary.

- Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
- Accountable and expected to fully comply with the company's OSHMS (Occupational, Safety & Health Management System) policies, OSHMS procedures & operational work instructions and any other relevant legislation.

Other Tasks

- Maintain regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Accor Control-related tasks

- Understand control frameworks including self-audits & controls defined by Accor Internal Controls team.

OSH (Occupational Safety & Health) Responsibilities

- Participate in the risk assessment activities.
- Develop new work procedures as required, in coordination with department heads
- Provide all employees with relevant OSH information in an appropriate manner;
- Ensuring that all works are conducted in a manner safe and without risk to employees and visitors
- Planning to do all work safely;
- Providing advice and assistance on OSH to all employees;
- Action in OSH reports and carrying out workplace inspections;
- Preparing and participating in OSH meetings and OSH programs;
- Ensuring on safe work practices at all times;
- Conducting toolbox talks and daily team briefings
- Ensure that all incidents are reported to the OSH Manager

All cash handling associates are required to understand:

- Policies & procedures specified in Accor Standards such as Cashiering Responsibilities, Cashier Overage & Shortages.

Preferred qualifications:

English level:

- Speaking and understanding, reading and writing

Education:

- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or any other related field preferred.

Experience:

- Minimum 1-year experience as General Cashier in 5 Star Hotel

Others:

- High level of IT understanding.
- Ability to use Microsoft package efficiently
