Job description / Role
The Engineering Chief Instructor & Curriculum Lead is responsible for providing inspirational leadership to the team of instructors reporting into them.
The General Engineering Chief Instructor is also responsible for owning the curriculum within their subject area and ensuring a consistent approach to the development and delivery of the curriculum across all subordinate instructors through training and subsequent audit.
• Taking ownership of the end-to-end curriculum for their area of responsibility.
• Development of the training solution, blending external and internally developed material into a cohesive package.
• Development, supporting and motivating of a core team of technical instructors, working closely with the other specialty CI’s in the effective use of instructional manpower, to ensure suitable training to be undertaken and offering career development opportunity.
• Leading the delivery of the curriculum to ensure that it is delivered effectively, in accordance with relevant policy and procedure within the firm
• Regular reporting of student progress, attendance, and behaviour to demonstrate to the institutional management team that delivery is being managed to schedule.
• In conjunction with Standards team, conduct audits of teaching standards across the team to ensure consistency of approach.
Requirements
• Level 4 Qualification in Teaching & learning
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in training design following either BSAT/DSAT/ADDIE models IQA (V1) Qualified
• 5yrs training delivery experience gained outside of QTI (or 2yrs within) delivering either:
• Apprentice training
• Military trade training
• Type training
• FE College (Engineering or Science)
