About the company:
Our client is within the Maritime Sector and is servicing the Offshore Oil and Gas industry. The client is headquartered in Dubai and has several offices in the Middle East. The company has existed for almost 50 years.
About the role:
As a General Manager/Commercial Manager, you will be leading the day-to-day operations at the office. As the company is family owned it's crucial you understand the way a family business runs. Your main responsibilities will be as a commercial manager but you will also be part of the logistics, business development, contracts, finance, and operations.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the day-to-day operations at the office
• Taking a lead role in solving commercial issues that may arise
• "DO IT ALL" kind of person and be a part of contracts, finance, and operations as well
• Conduct morning meetings with the team to make sure everyone is aligned
• Identify and develop better business opportunities for growth
• Build and maintain relationships with the current and prospective clients
• Negotiate new projects and contract terms with new clients
• Attend networking events and build industry connections
• Interact and cooperate with all members of the organization, its suppliers, and customers
• Stay updated with the industry trends
Requirements
Skills & Qualifications: professional training
• 5+ years prior experience in business development or marketing fields
• Background in the offshore/marine industry
• Strong communication and negotiations skills
• Good background in BIMCO contracts
• Good knowledge of vessels and vessel chartering
• Business Development skills
• Possess a collaborative mindset and work well as part of a team
• Driven and motivated
• Basic accounting skills and costing abilities
• Good knowledge of project management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
