Job description / Role

General Job Purpose Brief
• Assist baggage team leaders \ loading team leaders to carry out the loading and offloading of baggage in a safe and secure manner with zero discrepancies and minimal and\or no delay in flight departure.

Work Duties
• Assist in carrying out a FOD check prior to arrival and after departure.
• Assist t in organizing the Equipment and units for Loading/Offloading of baggage.
• Assist in effectively offloading the Baggage and dispatch it to the Arrival hall and the transfer area bearing in mind the set targets of the Company.
• Assist in offloading QRT, Vulnerable cargo, perishable Cargo, Live Animals and General Cargo and transport it to the designated Areas.
• Assign Baggage units for departure flights after checking their serviceability.
• Using handheld scanners while loading bags into Baggage units and using knowledge of Bag san system to determine the number of loaded bags and missing bags and give the updated information to the BTL and Supervisor.
• Assist the Loading to carry out a check of the inbound and outbound units respectively for serviceability and alert him/her in case of discrepancies.
• Assist the Loading to conduct a check of the inbound and Outbound Cargo respectively.
• Assist in organizing team of loaders to unload and/or load the Aircraft in compliance with the LDM/CPM and/or Loading Information Report Form.
• In the case of any discrepancy, report immediately to Baggage team leader / Baggage supervisor/Loading team leader.
• Report any safety / security related issues immediately to shift supervisor.

Requirements

Minimum Educational Qualifications

Essential
• Basic literacy, Numeracy skills, English communication skills
• Experienced - minimum 2 years of job-related experience OR
• High School Qualification (e.g. O level, Year 10, min compulsory education)

Preferred
• At least 1 year experience in all areas of airport operations

Required Work Knowledge and Skills

Essential
• Ability to read and interpret LDM/CPM messages
• Practical knowledge of using handheld scanner and familiarity of Bag scan Console
• Familiarity of Ramp safety and Dangerous Goods Handling.
• Knowledge to identify unserviceable containers from serviceable containers

Preferred
• Practical knowledge of using Hand-Held scanner and familiarity of Bag scan console
