Group Consolidation Accountant

Client

Linum Consult’s client is a major international company currently seeking a Group Consolidation Accountant with excellent communication skills to be based in Qatar.

Responsibilities

• Managing all aspects of financial consolidation
• Ensuring that month-end close, consolidation, and reporting are completed on time and in accordance with IFRS GAAP
• Ensuring that each division completes their submissions accurately and on time
• Providing training and support to divisions; explaining variances and resolving any inconsistencies or issues with the financial information provided
• Managing the elimination of intercompany transactions and balances
• Liaising with various international divisions to provide guidance and advice on technical accounting and group policy requirements
• Finding improvements and simplifications for the financial consolidation process while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
• Conducting reviews and approving monthly account reconciliations and miscellaneous schedules prepared by senior accountants
• Rolling out the accounting, reporting, and consolidation systems to new subsidiaries
• Coordinating with external auditors during the annual year-end audit process
• Establishing and maintaining a solid and robust internal control system

Requirements

Profile

• Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, ideally with an MBA or master’s in Finance.
• Professional qualification such as CFA, CMA, CA, CPA, or ACCA is essential
• At least 5-7 years’ experience in Accounting and Internal Control, with around 2-3 years in a similar position or level of responsibility
• Excellent technical English, with a strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely to both internal and external stakeholders. Excellent ability to lead and manage teams on multiple projects simultaneously
• Familiarity with ERP systems, e.g. Oracle, with excellent technical knowledge of financial management and consolidation systems: Oracle HFM
• Previously worked in Europe would be advantageous and preferably Gulf countries for large international companies in a multicultural environment
