Charterhouse are currently working with a leading Qatari group client whom are presently looking to recruit a Group Internal Audit Manager. This role shall oversee an independent and objective internal audit function across all business lines and companies with the group structure.

This role shall be heavily geared towards the planning, direction and oversight of all the business risks and control weaknesses whilst developing the audit strategy to allow for continually update, relevant and robust risk governance and report monitoring across internal controls, risk mitigation and any fraud related activity. This Internal Audit Manager shall inherit a team of existing Internal Auditors and shall take responsibility for the reporting lines to both Chairman and CEO of the group.

The role shall also be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the internal audit function, whilst managing and delegating ongoing project-based work, and any ad-hoc based forensic assignments across the organisation. In conjunction, this Manager shall have an oversight off audit planning based upon both business needs and the need to focus towards operational excellence and any policy review and upgrade.

Requirements

The client will look to recruit a professionally qualified internal audit candidate (CIA or CISA type) combined with a finance and/or accountancy related degree background. The client envisages hiring a candidate, with up to 10 years of experience, from within a group-type business or a multi-tiered international organisation. The successful candidate shall also be able to demonstrate a strong managerial background coupled with the ability to manage and roll-out an audit program within the required budgetary framework.

The client will also expect a strong communicator and impartial candidate, whom is able to oversee all senior reporting lines, whilst also acting within a strong advisory capacity with a view towards international best practice and the development of recommended risk management tools and protocols. Experience within the GCC market will be a mandatory requirement and the client will seek an Arabic speaking candidate as a preferred option.
