Head of Contracts

Job description / Role

CLIENT

Linum Consult’s client is a major organisation operating out of Qatar. They are currently seeking an Arabic- and English-speaking Head of Contracts to join their Contracts and Procurement Division in Doha.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Being responsible for the procurement of goods or services for the company’s projects in corporate functions
• Ensuring that the company secures the best deals for materials and services obtained
• Managing and preparing corporate-related contracts, ensuring alignment with each department’s needs
• Liaising and communicating with relevant departments on materials or services required to deliver the scope of work, including consultant/contractor/construction materials
• Implementing standardised tendering methods for corporate procurement, using standard templates, tools, and documents
• Assisting in the maintenance of accurate vendor databases, and ensuring that the database reflects the latest information on pricing, delivery, time, and resources
• Managing the end-to-end RFP process, from bid scoping, bid conditioning & evaluation, shortlisting/selection to the award
• Assisting in the negotiation with contractors to ensure the highest quality service at the most effective price

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering subject or similar discipline
• At least 8 years’ experience in contract management for large scale construction projects
• Knowledge of tendering and procurement processes
• Experience in awarding and managing contracts, knowledge of commercial, technical, and legal contract terms
• In-depth knowledge of procurement and contracting standards, requirements, internal controls, policies & procedures, and an understanding of the local regulations
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English and Arabic
• Due to our client’s ongoing commitment to Qatarisation, our client’s first preference is to interview Qatari nationals for this opportunity

Salary:
QAR 50,000 to 57,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
