Head of Legal Affairs - Shipping (Bilingual)

Job description / Role

Our client is a Shipping company seeking for a Bilingual Head of Legal Affairs to join its team in Qatar.

The Head of Legal Affairs will be responsible for all internal and external legal matters of the company.

In his/he external advisory capacity, s/he will be required to handle all the litigation and arbitration, external counselling, the establishment of JVs and subsidiaries and the registration of trademarks

In addition, s/he will ensure that the management of all the internal legal matters of the company is carried out in accordance with the company's policies, procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in Law or equivalent is required.
* Master's Degree in Law, International Business, or equivalent is preferred.
* 10 -15 years experience in a Legal Advisory capacity, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
* GCC expertise is required, with strong preference for candidates with experience in the Qatari market.
* Arabic language skills are a must.
* Strong knowledge of local and international laws and regulations, contract management and administrative processes, as well as strong arbitration, dispute management and mediation skills are required.
