Employment: Full Time

Charterhouse is working with a leading regional bank who is looking to hire an experienced Head of Legal to take the lead role in advising management, support functions and risk partners on laws as well as regulations that will impact the operations or commercial and financial position of the bank.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited too, working with the business and other support functions to assess the vulnerability of products and services to existing or future legal challenges and with an awareness of business priorities. You will help devise mitigation strategies, provide assistance and advice to the bank’s credit, recovery, trade and investment advisory business, reviewing and drafting standard agreements with clients and third party service providers as well as handle litigation issues and translation of court notices as necessary.

Requirements

The successful candidate should possess a minimum of 15 years PQE gained within a reputable bank or law firm in the GCC. You should possess strong knowledge of banking laws and be fluent in Arabic and English.
