We have an exciting opportunity for an Editor-In-Chief (Head of Media and Public Relations) to work within the Internal Newsroom of this large organisation in Qatar. This is a new strategic role where you will act as the focal point for all storytelling for the organisation across the local and international community. This exciting role reports to the Director of External Communication and works closely with the Communication Strategy Board, ensuring the Newsroom produces and publishes impactful communication internally and externally.

Key accountabilities include but will not be limited too; managing a team of 30+ employees whilst acting as the focal point between the Channel and Topic Managers (internal and external) ensuring all communication is in line with the organisations vision, mission and strategy. You will lead and report on the communication strategy and projects; supervise all newsroom activities, story-mining, messaging and design, and align with the communication strategy. You will guide media topics and prioritize topics/stories/activities for daily, weekly and monthly publications; lead the development of the annual business plans and budgets for the Newsroom and oversee the budget. You will also represent the media newsroom acting as the organisations spokesperson with both internal and external stakeholders and proactively keeping up-to-date with the both the organisations internal changes, inter-country and international topics translating them into communication opportunities.

Requirements

The successful candidate should be an Editor-In-Chief or Senior Editor of a media newsroom or will have worked within a large (3000+) organisation in a Senior PR/Media/Communication role. You should have a Degree in PR, mass media, marketing, communications or journalism with at least 8-10 years of relevant full-time work experience in professional writing and publication production, 3 years of which will be a senior level having lead change management initiatives and crisis management communication. You should have computer skills in Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, and MS Office.
