Head of Strategy

Job description / Role

Reporting into the CEO, a major diversified conglomerate in Doha is looking for a seasoned strategy and business development professional to work on improving the overall financial and strategic performance of the portfolio of businesses under management.

Responsibilities will include:
• Working in close consultation with top management and the board of subsidiary organizations to develop strategic and financial targets, budgets and KPIs.
• Advising on corporate governance, strategy formulation, business planning, decision making and performance monitoring processes.
• Supporting decision making in all business units and advising executive management on matters relating to mergers, acquisitions, financial investments, enterprise risk management, liquidity, strategic planning, balance sheet structure, new products and profit projections.
• Developing long-term financial strategies to maximize shareholder value, recommending optimum capital structure and maintaining appropriate capital adequacy ratio for all subsidiaries.
• Supporting subsidiaries in achieving their business objectives, strengthening management capabilities and building cases for new business or strategic initiatives.
• Ensuring synergies of operations and service offerings between the businesses and the effective use of resources for all subsidiaries.

Requirements

• 15 years of experience in Corporate Planning, Corporate Financing and Strategy Formulation.
• 5-7 years of experience with a Financial or Strategic Advisory Firm and IPO exposure is highly desirable.
• Post Graduate Degree in Finance, Sales, Marketing or Strategic Management.
• Ideally holding a professional certification such as a PMP/ CPA/ CFA.
• Must be bilingual in English and Arabic.
