Health and Safety Training Manager

CLIENT
Linum Consult’s client operates out of the Middle East. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking an HSE Training Manager to join their team in Qatar.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leading the development and assurance of standardised Health & Safety training requirements with stakeholders and company employees
• Assisting in providing strategic H&S training initiatives to Corporate and to Project employees
• Assisting in achieving the H&S department objects in line with the Strategic Business Planning Initiatives
• Assisting in identifying opportunities for improvement and developing initiatives
• Developing and performing Health & Safety related training
• Auditing the project partners’ Health & Safety training programme; working closely with the project teams to assure standardization and compliance
• Facilitating monthly performance reviews, including assessments of the Health & Safety Management System against agreed requirements, and taking action where targets are not met
• Assisting and contributing to monthly safety committee meetings
• Representing the company in Health & Safety related forums

Requirements

PROFILE
• Bachelor’s degree and a post-graduate qualification in a relevant field
• Accredited training qualification
• At least 10 years’ experience in implementing and monitoring effective training strategies and processes in line with international best practices, e.g. OHSAS 18001
• Previous experience of developing and implementing a construction worker welfare policy and the implementation of said policy through interfacing between all stakeholders on the project ensuring that they are compliant with the policy is essential
• Strong background within the construction industry, ideally in railway construction projects, or other infrastructure construction projects, interfacing with regulatory bodies
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to build relationships with influential people at all levels within and outside the organization
