Main Purpose of the Job:
Working with a key business unit within the Doha Design Office the for a crucial Roads and Drainage Programme being design to improve the quality of residents in and around Qatar.
 
The key function of the role is to be responsible for preparing and delivering highways design concepts, preliminary and detailed engineering studies related to all major land development and highway projects.
 
You will be confident in managing a team of professionals and providing mentoring and technical guidance to them with support from other senior staff and management.

You will also be able to maintain successful ongoing client relationships and assist with securing forward workload through business development activities to ensure the commercial success of the team

Key Responsibilities/ Duties (include but not limited to):
* A relevant Tertiary Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* Current Membership (or Eligibility for membership) of Engineers
* Around 14 + years experience including significant experience in a consultancy environment.
* Undertake engineering design and modelling tasks as required by the contract and client.
* Independently undertake design, modelling and technical checks.
* Lead and supervise a team of design and graduate engineers as required.
* Conduct orientation and training for subordinates, inside or outside highway team, as necessary and as directed by the Line Manager.
* Undertake AutoCAD operations and delivery of design drawings.
* Ensure that design tasks and deliverables conform to Hyder system and quality standards.
* Preparation of design drawings, calculations, and design reports.
* Coordination with other disciplines to ensure that interfaces have been considered and accounted for.
* Strong data analysis and investigation skills.
* The ability to prepare robust and defendable engineering reports with experience in external forums desirable.
* The ability to work within budget and meet deadlines.
* The ability to provide leadership, technical review and guidance to a team of professionals.
* The ability to liaise and communicate effectively with key clients and contribute towards business development for Water and related services.
* Participation into Tender Evaluations.
* Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
* Perform regular risk management to minimize project risks.
* Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
* Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
* Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering a must.
* Minimum of 14 years of relevant work experience.
* Experience in Roads and Drainage is a must.
* Middle East Region experience advantageous.
* Advanced experience in Autodesk Civil 3D 2014/2015 and AutoCAD 2015
* Working knowledge in storm-water drainage design for land development and road projects
* Intermedia experience in project management
* Confident in working with a team of professionals and providing mentoring and technical guidance to team members as and when required. 
* Responsible for the design of clean or waste water networks and/or clean and waste water treatment works
* Team player.
* Customer focus with a drive to deliver exceptional customer service;
* Delivery focused individual with the ability to work in a self-sufficient manner;
* Report writing
* Good motivation, influencing and people management skills with the ability to lead and mentor less experienced engineers and technicians
