Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

General Description:
- This is a senior management position with overall responsibility for department project delivery objectives and goals The manager is to ensure that all departmental targets are met, and progress is achieved for all projects.
- Responsible for the Project Management of Projects and Programme(s) of Works within the department.
- Responsible for managing and delivering all projects, technical, project controls (including program, planning, HSE, quality, risk, and systems compliance), and other required disciplines necessary to ensure Client goals are met.
- Ensure, review, and where necessary draft recommendations or other documentation in processing requests for variation, addendum, extensions of time requests, and other contractual claims, etc. as per the Client's policies and guidelines.
- Provide support to the department managers where required.
- Provide regular progress reports and elevate issues on behalf of the Client.
- Attendance at relevant meetings as required.

Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure and review project management compliance related to Projects.
- Liaise with heads of delivery teams and key stakeholders to effectively manage various Projects.
- Coordinate with all relevant parties and representatives such as owners and legal authorities to minimize any disruption and ensure the completion of the projects in time and within cost.
- Overarching responsibility for project delivery across all disciplines (including technical, commercial, and project controls (program, planning, HSE, quality risk, systems compliance, etc.).
- Ensure projects are moving forward.
- Managing Senior Management Team meetings and strategic workshops.
- Collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide support to the department managers, where required, on project management matters.
- Elevate any issues on behalf of the Client, collect and update periodic reports for the projects, and submit them to higher management in the Client to provide clear information on the status and extent of work progress in the projects.
- Continually seek and capture lessons learned from the project and use this intelligence to improve systems, tools, and processes.

Requirements

Required Skills and Competencies:
- Minimum of 15 years post-graduate experience in major highway infrastructure projects or programs. preference will be given to roads, aviation, structures, or rail-related experience may be considered.
- Proven ability to perform in a higher management capacity with a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations is required. In addition, he/she must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively used on projects to improve project delivery.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
- Demonstrable history in the delivery of large team-led multidisciplinary projects.
- In-depth knowledge of project management procedures.
- A “rounded profile”, comfortable with strategic planning, risk management, and change management analysis and commercial considerations (the successful candidate will also be able to mobilize people and teams by their leadership skills and secure successful deliverables).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to build and maintain excellent working relationships within complex structures, internally and with various project stakeholders.

Mandatory Requirements:
- University degree from a recognized University in an appropriate field such as Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Procurement, or Construction Management or equivalent.
- Evidence of discipline-specific professional qualification PMP or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of Government processes and procedures.
- Client-side experience
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.
- Valid Driving License.
