Role Summary

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, this role supports the location in the achievement of business objectives through the implementation of people management strategies covering all areas of the employee lifecycle including performance, talent development, reward, engagement, attendance management and restructuring consistent with employee standards, legislation and guidelines.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support the HR Business Partner in implementing HR strategies that support the broader business objectives
• Deal with first line employee queries, and act as a key point of contact for line managers on people issues, escalating more complex queries to the HR Business Partner or Government Affairs Senior Advisor
• Ensure consistent delivery of HR services to the location, such as employee letters
• Ensure delivery of HR services for all employees, including regularly visiting site offices
• Deliver location new joiner inductions and handle leavers
• Provide support to the talent acquisition team
• Undertake analysis of people related metrics, data and trends, provides recommendations to the HR Business Partner
• Work with Centres of Excellence including Talent Acquisition, Regional HR, HR Shared Services, Finance and Payroll to provide a wide range of HR Services to stakeholders
• Work closely with the HR Shared Service Centre to ensure the business receives an efficient and high quality HR administation service
• Coach, support and build capability in line managers to manage the employment relationship effectively
• Support the development and maintenance of HR Policies and processes
• Coach, counsel, and guide managers with regards to HR policy queries
• Provide support in grievance and disciplinary hearings
• Pro-actively monitor sickness absence across client group and support managers in reducing sickness absence
• Support the delivery of the HR calendar
• Support the delivery of HR change projects

Requirements

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Degree Qualified Essential
• Strong employee relations experience gained in high volume, transactional environments with disciplinary, grievance and sickness absence management cases
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build solid working relationships
• Exposure to diverse and complex matrix businesses in an HR generalist role is an advantage
• Experience of working within a HR Shared Services & Centres of Excellence model is an advantage
• Experience of managing / supporting HR projects
• Capacity to understand how people issues impact the business and how HR can create value for the business
• Demonstrates integrity in all business interactions and honours personal commitments
• Ability to provide both verbal and written information clearly, succinctly, and persuasively, as well as ability to influence others
• Strong organisation skills are important, as well as strong attention to detail, an ability to multi task and see work through to full implementation
• Ability to build key relationships and reach agreements and consensus despite differing goals and priorities
• Demonstrates a pro-active approach
• Ability to adapt in a changing environment
• Ability to use research methods effectively, including data collection, diagnostic, and analytical skills
• Good working knowledge of local employment laws and practices
• Experience in HR data systems and processes
