Information Security Specialist

Job description / Role

Linum Consult’s client is currently in the process of expanding and is seeking an Information Security Specialist, to be based in their office in Qatar.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Managing the company’s information security activities by identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential security threats and vulnerabilities
• Protecting the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of the company’s information assets
• Regularly checking and analysing security logs and alerts from various security tools and systems, and identifying and responding to any suspicious activities or potential security incidents
• Ensuring that all security controls are properly configured and operationally applicable. Updating security systems to protect against vulnerabilities
• Developing a schedule for regular risk assessments and vulnerability testing, identifying and prioritising critical systems and data for assessment
• Collaborating with senior management and other stakeholders to develop strategies to mitigate identified risks
• Providing guidance and training for junior colleagues
• Monitoring the financial performance and ensuring all activities are carried out within approved guidelines

• Degree qualification in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role, with the last 3 years in positions of management/leadership
• Strong understanding of information security
• Fluent in spoken and written English, with any Arabic language skills an advantage
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills
• Previous experience of working in Qatar and/or other Gulf countries
