Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Main Purpose of the Job:

The Inspector will oversee all health, safety and environmental pertaining to the construction of the underground pumping stations and retained-concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

* Monitoring the safety performance of supervision team and contractors on site
* Monitoring compliance with all occupational health and safety standards and use of personal protection equipment
* Participating in internal safety reviews and site audits/inspections
* Taking part in accident and incident investigation
* Checking observance of the permit to work systems
* Carrying out specialist HSE training for staff on site
* Preparing site safety reports
* Schedule regular and ad-hoc HSE audits; develop program audit within the organization
* Monitor environmental control activities including waste minimisation, and drive sustainability initiatives
* Development, implementation and monitoring of HSEQ procedures and policies

Requirements

Essential Candidate Requirements:

* Degree in Civil Engineering or any relevant engineering; additional certificates or qualifications in Health and Safety would be preferred
* Minimum 5 years' experience relevant experience in construction in deep underground RC structures preferably in large diameter tunneling and drainage network projects
* Proven experience in managing all HSE matters on large construction sites.
* Experience within a consultancy environment is preferred
* Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
* Experience of working on a large pumping station or other water projects would be advantageous
