Installation Supervisor - Rail

Job description / Role

The Installation Supervisor oversees coordination and follow up of the installation execution as per the specification and design requirements.

Responsible for assuring that the contractor fulfills its construction responsibilities in accordance with the approved design and standards within the agreed time schedule.

Supervises the review and approval of proposed systems and equipments.

Monitor the progress of all site work contained within the assigned site including all the installation and placement of equipment performed by the contractor.

Monitor the works aimed at the progress of the project and identifies any time related or quantitative changed compared to the contract.

Ensure material compliance with project requirements.

Verifies adequacy of response and interdisciplinary input.

Review engineering drawings and refer issues requiring changes.

Report periodically, as required, on work progress achieved, technical, safety and contractual issues and concerns and upcoming work plans.

Coordinate, along with the Site Managers and Safety Teams, under the consolidation of the HSE Manager, the application of the required protection and safety measures.

Take necessary steps for preventing the occurrence of possible non-conformances, ensure that existing non-conformances are rectified.

Communicate early warning and signs.

Track, follow-up and review of documentation produced by the contractor with special emphasis for the test reports.

Supervise and control the program of the installation activities, under the contractor responsibility.

Supervise and control of the status and progress of the installation activities and of the related documents.

Preparing and monitoring of work instructions ensuring quality work attained from assigned staff.

Immediately inform of any observed hazards, injuries or dangerous occurrences, which become apparent during work.

Create and promote a continuous improvement approach among the team members.

Performs other responsibilities associate with this position during construction.

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 10 years demonstrable experience on a lead supervisory role in installation on rail systems projects.

Demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role on a comparable international transit system.

Experience in technical coordination on site.

Good knowledge of metro and railway systems.

Familiar with different international standards and specifications.

Ability to effectively communicate with team members, managers and clients

Must have a good reporting, presentation and administration skills.

Must be fluent in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
