Job description / Role
Intelligent Transport Systems Specialist - Qatar
Linum Consult’s client is currently seeking a Specialist in Intelligent Transport Systems, with an emphasis in SCADA and design to be involved on a significant highway construction project in Qatar.
Key duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Reporting to the Traffic Discipline Leader & Design Review Manager, and delivering the technical outputs in accordance with the project requirements
• Critically reviewing the ITS design submissions for compliance with the Employer’s Requirements
• Liaising with the Discipline Leaders, Client Technical Team, and other consultants as part of the design management task
• Coordinating the Project’s ITS tasks and standards
• Coordinating with the end Client’s ITS team and their consultants, specifically evaluating the emerging strategy for ITS
Requirements
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar, with a chartership to a recognised professional institution
• 10 years’ working experience in Highways and/or Traffic Engineering, with a particular emphasis on ITS architecture, applications, or devices in major highway projects
• Strong technical knowledge in the design and documentation of traffic control-related Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in major highway projects, such as traffic signals, roadside communications, fog detection systems, CCTV and VMS
• Strong technical knowledge of Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA)
