Inventory Quality Assurance Officer - Qatar Airways - Doha

Purpose: To monitor, track and report the flow and quality of goods into and between the Qatar Airways (QR) and third party warehouses providing additional quality assurance checks to help ensure stock is always delivered to a high quality standard and is as per proposed specification to the extent possible with the monitoring tools available, ensuring that Qatar Airways receives and uses the standard of goods expected and contracted for.

Operational
* Responsible for conducting physical inspections of random samples of stock upon delivery to the base warehouse prior to issuing for on-board use and also at >4 other warehouse stores where QR Catering Services goods are held across Doha.
* Proposes and gains agreement to the volume of sampling required agreeing the level of checks to be carried out so that a representative sample of items is reviewed.
* Assists with the purchase of all equipment, ensuring that there are no out of stock situations.
* Carries out physical checks to monitor product conformity against the Qatar Airways specification documents (as possible given the tools provided) and records and reports any non-compliance / deviation.
* Tracks and records all checks in the Catering Services Qosmos system and provides monthly, or more frequent reporting/analysis of findings relating to supplier performance and conformance to specifications including numerical and graphical representations of data to show performance trends for further management action.
* Ensures that the product shelf life is correctly mentioned and that it is within the validity period as specified maximizing stock usage for QR.
* Checks the carton packing and inner pack volume conform to the QR specifications to ensure stock is protected as agreed in specifications.
* Proposes packaging and other improvements to the supplier / producers of specifications to further improve product standards for QR in future orders or tenders.
* Ensures that non-compliant product is isolated and reported to the Inventory Planning Specialist in a timely manner with a detailed report and image evidence to protect, as far as possible, from any non-standard product being loaded on QR flights.
* Ensures that certificate of analysis (C of A) and/or Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) are available, as appropriate, from the suppliers and that the same are tracked and filed thus ensuring there is a document record of supplier conformance with QR requirements.
* Tracks and files copies of any and all third party QA reports as required by QR from suppliers before goods have been shipped.
* Ensures that product is not contaminated with foreign objects or damaged / spoiled due to weather or transportation conditions and is therefore fit for use on QR services as far as tools provided will allow.
* Coordinates with the Inventory Team in case of rejection of goods and for notifying the vendor for replacement of goods to ensure robustness of supply into the operation without impact on the customer.
* Supports regular inventory control processes by counting and overseeing the counting of stock by others including third party suppliers. Includes the timely reporting of the same in the Inventory Control systems to ensure robust stock balances are maintained; carrying out spot-checks from time to time to ensure the same.
* Assists the Inventory Team for carrying out planning, inventory and logistic tasks including the confirmation of receipt and issuance of stock from the warehouse to the caterers as required to ensure the smooth operation of the caterer.
* Ensures the introduction of new inventory, including the timely withdrawal and disposal of any obsolete stock on a regional level facilitating the on-time introduction of new / replacement items on QR services.
* Assists in business data analysis in relation to inventory, logistics and cost control to monitor and track equipment utilization and consumption highlighting issues of over or under consumption to help manage commercial impacts on QR.
* Raises requisition requests as required in the QR Oracle and other systems.
* Represents QR Catering Services with internal and external service partners and provides coaching and guidance on the QR Catering Services requirements as required so as to ensure compliance with the highest standards or operation and performance at all times.
* Performs other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the head of the department



Requirements

You should hold Bachelor Degree in Inventory Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or related with minimum 4 years of job related experience. Quality Assurance Certification and Training will be an advantage for this role.

* Logistics and supply chain management
* Reporting and report writing.
* Warehouse management.
* Quality Assurance

Job Specific Skills
* Command of English language to a high level of both written and conversational ability.
* Ability to work under own initiative with limited direct supervision
* Quality Assurance and Catering equipment management background will be preferred

Fresh Graduates with the relevant degree can be considered for this role.
