Jewelry Designer

Job description / Role

- Developing and sketching jewelry design concepts that meet client requirements, using computer-aided design (CAD) software or traditional drawing techniques.
- Selecting materials and techniques to be used in the creation of jewelry pieces, and sourcing materials from suppliers.
- Creating prototypes of jewelry designs, using tools and equipment such as pliers, cutters, and soldering equipment.
- Overseeing the production of final pieces, either by crafting the pieces themselves or by working with other artisans or manufacturers to bring the design to life.
- Collaborating with other designers or artisans to create custom pieces or collections.
- Staying up-to-date with emerging trends in jewelry design, as well as with changes in materials and production techniques.
- Managing inventory and supplies, and ensuring that orders are fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner.
- Marketing and promoting jewelry collections through social media, websites, and other channels.
- Successful jewelry designers also possess strong communication and business skills, as they must work closely with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. They should also have a strong sense of aesthetics, an eye for detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferable
- 8 years of experience
- Proficiency with computer-aided design
- Fingers dexterity
- Artistic abilities
- Previous experience using computer-aided design (CAD) software or traditional drawing techniques
