Lead Facilities Officer - Residential - Qatar Airways - Doha

In this role you will support Facilities Management with maintenance and repairs including refurbishments and renovations where required, take over and handover of properties, supervision of subcontractor staff and control of inventory. You will plan, organise and monitor all maintenance activities to ensure smooth running of the buildings/facilities at multiple locations.
You will be responsible for the health and safety of the operations in your zone to ensure that the work is carried out in a safe manner.

Ensure the staff accommodation is properly maintained as per Qatar Airways standards in a cost effective and timely manner.

Operational
• Manage manpower resources and task allocations for skilled and unskilled workers for day to day activities to ensure that there is no over or under utilization of resources.
• To prepare, review and log documented records of maintenance activities.
• Interact with housing allocation team for capturing the accommodation availability and preparing the same for allocation.
• Collaborate with Accommodation Manager and User departments’ administrator for timely availability of accommodation for staff.
• Support Property Management for generating acceptance documents for new properties as well as for preparing handover documents of properties that are returned.
• Interact with company employees assigned regarding maintenance related duties for work distribution and assessment of completed tasks.
• Support Facilities in maintaining details of company vehicles and fuel cost used by Maintenance staff.
• Ensuring sufficient inventory levels are maintained at Team Leader stores (virtual store), (TL) and Building stores.
• Plan & advise Storekeeper of any upcoming bulk requirements from a maintenance perspective.
• Assist in collating & providing information for Call Off contract formation for inventories.
• Review and analyse furniture and appliance inventory records at time of check in and check out by staff from company accommodation.
• Supervise personnel (direct & indirect) and manage resources effectively and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance of all processes and company policy.
• Support / respond to any emergency or operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.
• Other duties and responsibilities as requested by Management

Management & Leadership
• Regularly evaluate the objectives of maintenance teams, their procedures and practices and make appropriate changes if needed including prioritizing the work schedule as per requirements received
• Supervise employees of Service Provider as well as of maintenance teams deployed by the landlords.
• Direct daily activities, develop and enforce discipline on the employees of service provider / landlord to ensure a high standard of service delivery.

Development
• Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development, including technical skills and growth of expertise.
• Train and develop other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management.

Operational Safety
• Responsible to ensure that employees at all levels understand work health and safety requirements and expectations through provision of relevant QR Group induction, information, instruction, training and supervision.
• Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operation to assure employee safety, security, legislative compliance and delivery of high quality service with a responsible environmental attitude.
• Ensure that all managers and supervisors understand work health and safety requirements and expectations to the extent that they can pass on relevant information, identify training needs and provide appropriate supervision in their workplace.
• Take a direct and personal interest in reported injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards to ensure that appropriate reporting, investigation and response is being achieved

Requirements

You should hold a Bachelor Degree or equivalent with a minimum 5 years of job related experience in building maintenance operations with minimum of 3 years of experience in a leading/supervisory role either in a Hotel, Hospitality, Hospitals or commercial property. Experience in working with Contracting Companies for staff accommodation related works and Manpower management in Facilities Management Contractors will be preferred. Experience in maintenance operations is a must.

You should have ability to receive & respond to instructions, delegate work, and set clear direction to the employees of service provider. We are looking for someone who can respond to emergency situations by performing the duties assigned in compliance with procedures. You should have the experience in preparing and formulating the conditions of maintenance agreements / service levels / response durations for maintenance contracts awarded to service provider.
