Lead Highway Design Engineer– Doha, Qatar

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads a team of engineers to designs and lays out complete systems and components of a Company project with all related facilities, including design elements for which there may be no clearly established precedents. Utilizes good judgment and prior experience, anticipates problems at the outset, and provides solutions.
• Does front end layout and design of complex systems and equipment as applicable to the respective discipline.
• Provides for compliance with items such as specifications, tolerances, safety factors and requirements of client.
• Performs specialized design computations and analysis within a given discipline.
• Serves as a Unit Leader on a project, ensuring compliance with industry codes, project, and Company standards.
• Performs interdiscipline reviews and provides coordinating data to ensure a compatible design.
• Gives lead direction to a team of checking personnel, ensuring the mathematical accuracy of the drawings produced.
• Prepares manpower estimates.
• Helps train lower level Designers.
• Completes additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Preferably with Masters in Civil Engineering.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in designing large scale roads/highways and infrastructure projects.
• 3-5 years of experience working on the same capacity, leading a highway design team, and handling large scale highway design projects in the GCC region.
• Proficient in utilizing Civil 3D, and other highway/road design applications and software.
• Preferably with relevant experience in Qatar.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
