Lead Quantity Surveyor - Roads/Bridges

Job description / Role

Our client is one of the leading international construction and engineering firms and they have an urgent requirement for Lead Quantity Surveyor to be based in Doha, Qatar. This position requires strong experience in infrastructure projects such as road, bridges, tunnels or rail.

Main responsibilities:
- Manage contractor cost impact assessments including quantities and rates, taking-off from drawings and pricing works, preparation of site instructions and variation orders, evaluation of contractor claim submissions and assessing contractual entitlement
- Maintain adequate records in respect of project issues and commercial processes
- Manage Contract administration and contractor payment applications
- Operate strategies to maximize project revenues and cash flow in company’s favor
- Ensure timely submission of all contractual notices and supporting data
- Lead the Change Control Process and seek early resolution of contract changes
- Assist Project Management teams with advice and contractual support for project issues
- Assisting in reviewing & formulating tender submissions
- Liaise with project support functions such as finance, supply chain, risk and so on to ensure compliance with the company’s procedures and instructions
- Support project cost control management ensuring variances between planned budget expenditure and incurred costs are identified and appropriate action taken to minimize costs and liabilities
- Internal and external commercial periodic reporting
- Manage subcontract procurement and accounts
- Ensure insurance issues are managed in accordance with procedures

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying is required
- Chartered Membership; MRICS, MCIOB or MCInst CES is required
- Minimum 8 years of experience with specific focus on heavy civils projects such as road, bridges, tunnels or rail.
- Experience in understanding construction processes and methodology and the ability to analyses costs accordingly
- GCC experienced preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office; Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word
