Job overview

Position summary: Seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal adviser to manage the legal affairs of the company group.

Position requirements:

  • Provide up-to-date and practical legal advice on matters relating to corporate structure, operations, and governance within Qatar. This includes expertise in commercial law and employment law.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, including commercial contracts, joint ventures, and supplier agreements.
  • Develop and implement robust compliance programmes to ensure adherence to internal policies and legal requirements, staying updated on new legal developments impacting corporate operations in Qatar.
  • Analyse potential legal risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to protect the company's interests.
  • Advise on corporate governance best practices and ensure the company's adherence to them.
  • Liaise with senior management, external counsel, and regulatory bodies to manage legal operations efficiently.
  • Serve as the point of contact for regulatory bodies and other external organisations, ensuring smooth communication and compliance.
  • Support group-level activities, including mergers, acquisitions, and corporate structuring.
  • Handle dispute resolution in coordination with internal departments and litigation partners.

Education: Minimum qualification: Bacheloru2019s degree in law and a valid Qatari lawyer license or equivalent qualification.

Experience: 7+ years of legal experience within a corporate or group structure supporting multiple business units and senior leadership (QFC or QFZ regulations or other GCC jurisdictions experience is a plus).

Professional qualities:

  • English as a first language (Arabic proficiency is an advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of Qatari business laws, including corporate and labour law.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and managerial skills.
  • Ability to assimilate complex legal issues and provide practical advice to non-lawyers.
  • Ability to work across departments and advise senior management with clarity and confidence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
