Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Business Excellence Manager is responsible for the improvement of all Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) business processes and systems, implementing and monitoring internationally recognized quality management practice to improve business efficiencies and profitability. Provide guidance and expertise to manage the business, which drives and / or supports business improvement initiatives in QACC driving improvements, setting frameworks in order to obtain Operational Excellence.

Accountabilities:

Strategic
- Develop and deploy a projects strategy incorporating commercially- viable business opportunities, in line with QACC and Qatar Airways broader vision
- Develop systems and practices that support the business growth, introduction of new manufacturing strategies, meeting financial objectives and business goals in relation to safety quality and real time manufacturing improvements
- Set systems and business process strategy and objectives, aligned to the broader business strategy and in line with internal and external stakeholders' requirements

Operational
- Compile, prioritise and budget, operational improvement initiatives. Secure resources and manage projects through to timely delivery, within budget
- Organize implementation of improvement measures and monitor to ensure processes are embedded into the business. Revise periodically, particularly in line with business development and change initiatives
- Develop full-scale project plans, associated legal and compliance documents and communications

Management & Leadership
- Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives
- Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed
- Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure high productivity, stakeholders and employee satisfaction

Development
- Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise
- Train and develop other employees for proper succession planning and risk management
- Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program

Operational Safety
- Responsible to ensure that employees at al levels understand work health and safety requirements and expectations through provision of relevant Qatar Airways Group induction, information, instruction, training and supervision
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operation to assure employee safety, security, legislative compliance and delivery of high quality service with a responsible environmental attitude
- Ensure that all managers and supervisors understand work health and safety requirements and expectations to the extent that they can pass on relevant information, identify training needs and provide appropriate supervision in their workplace

Requirements

- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
- Lean/ Six Sigma and other related business improvement programmes
- Expert - minimum 8 years of job-related experience required
- Has facilitated cross-functional change initiatives
- Consultancy and Advisory experience up to an including senior management level
- Has led ISO and / or similar accredited programmes through to successful deployment

Preferred:
- Professional qualifications / membership of professional institute
- Recongnised project management tool (s)

Job Specific Skills
- Expert in Microsoft packages, Visio and Microsoft PM
- Knowledge of retail processes
- Works to highest professional standards
- Managerial skills- Able to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Encourages teamwork among project team members
