Manager Cargo Network Operations - Qatar Airways - Doha

Reporting to the Senior Manager Cargo Network Operations Performance and handling, you will be responsible to manage all cargo operations and freighter activities across Qatar Airways (QR) network in coordination with the regional operations teams. You will be responsible to effectively manage all Ground Handling Agents (GHAs) and Ground Service Providers and ensure top quality service is provided and maintained in accordance with airline requirements and procedures. You will establish the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices and make appropriate changes if needed.

Accountability:

Strategic:
• Overall responsibility to define, set and implement systems procedures for cargo operational staff within the network.
• Coordinate and design effective reporting mechanism and ensure up to date information for outstations is maintained and corrective actions are applied.
• To plan future changes in operational needs and develop new working practices.
• You will be responsible to open new freighter stations and ensure all ground work is done for safe commercial operations.

Operational :
• Responsible for the cargo activities at the outstation.
• To ensure that quality checks are completed on all cargo buildups and loading and ensure that inspections are carried out by QR staff/ representatives after all loading activities on board freighter aircraft have taken place.
• Interact with GHAs / QR inter-departments/ customs and government authorities to obtain information/ update governmental regulation.
• Conduct frequent station visits and undertake performance review meetings with the GHAs and where required ensure specific QR personal are available to attend and travel to freighter stations in absence of load control staff to release load sheets.
• Ensure that On Time Performance (OTP) is maintained related to freighter operations at outstations.

Safety & Security :
• You will be responsible to ensure that employees at all levels understands work health and safety requirements and expectations.
• Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across operations.
• Take a direct and personal interest in reported injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards and ensure appropriate reporting, investigation and response is being achieved.

Requirements

You will have a minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and have 10 years of industry experience (Airline/GHA/GSA). You will ideally have a proven track record in hub operations with preferably 3 years of management experience in a cargo airline/GHA. You must come with proven expertise in combined ground operations and freighter operations and an extended knowledge especially with the 777F, A330 and A330 freighter aircraft.

You will be a strong communicator and have the ability to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment. You will have the management ability to delegate work, set clear directions and motivate a team for continuous success, while having the capability to present to senior management level through regular reporting. You will have good audit understanding and measurement management capabilities and sound safety and security knowledge.
