Position Summary

The Manager of the Office of Curriculum Support (OCS) reports to the Director, Education Administration and collaborates with the Assistant Deans for curriculum and course and clerkship leadership. The Manager provides OCS staff with administrative and organizational leadership to ensure effective delivery of WCM-Q’s four-year medical curriculum.

Job Responsibilities

• Works closely with the medical education academic and administrative leadership on the development and implementation of the medical curriculum.
• Collaborates with staff and faculty on the preparation of master curriculum schedules and academic calendars for review and approval by curriculum committees and academic leadership.
• Ensures all elements of the curriculum are executed smoothly. This includes time and resource management for curricular sessions.
• Oversees all activities related to the Foundational Sciences Curriculum and Clinical Curriculum.
• Manages and supervises the daily operations of the Foundational Sciences Curriculum Support Staff. During peak periods, the Manager will be expected to provide support for operational activities as required.
• Oversees the daily operations of the Clinical Curriculum Support Staff.
• Provides leadership, direction, training, and evaluates the performance of all OCS staff and provides regular feedback.
• Maps all OCS activities, develops work-flows and implements process-improvement plans to enhance curriculum support.
• Manages the adherence to operational policies and procedures.
• Serves on WCM-Q Curriculum Committees as the focal point for curriculum support services. Also attends Promotion and Graduation Committees and other meetings, educational conferences and training workshops.
• Serves as the senior curriculum administrator responsible for preparing curricular information and compiling data for program accreditation.
• Collaborates with ITS Education Computing Support team on multiple projects to ensure optimal utilization of technology to support curriculum management and delivery. This includes the Learning Management System and web-based exam administration tools.
• Works closely with the Manager for the Office of Educational Development to ensure curricular objectives are appropriately assessed.
• Serves as the senior liaison with the staff in the Office of Curriculum and Educational Development at WCM-NY to monitor transfer of curricular materials.
• Writes and edits the curriculum sections on the medical education website pages and reviews and updates relevant sections in the WCM-Q Student Handbook. Provides written updates on the curriculum to include in reports for internal and external groups.
• Monitors the preparation and timelines for student performance data and final grades.
• Manages data collection and provides reports to the academic leadership to support curriculum mapping.
• Manages all aspects of exam administration, including assignment and training of proctors.
• Provides support for ad hoc projects related to the curriculum and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education
• Bachelor's Degree

Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in health, education or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years related experience, preferably working in higher education.
• Prior staff management and supervisory experience, demonstrating the ability to train, guide and evaluate staff performance.
• Experience with mapping processes and implementing improvement plans.
• Prior experience of working within a multicultural environment.
