Manager Product Development - Qatar Aircraft Catering Company - Qatar, Doha

Responsible to support, research, create, develop and implement products and service concepts across various service areas especially product development and service design. Also responsible for all new as well as current product enhancements, product redesign. Manage professionals who will assist the department in developing products of high standard and set a niche in the market of aviation by introducing state-of-the art product concepts that rival competitors

Your job responsibilities will consist of:
- Actively participates in the formulation of company product development strategy in alignment with business goals, desired customer experience, customer feedback
- Responsible for the development and direction of design, research aimed at improving current products and generating ideas for new products and services. Develop process to liaise and instruct manufactures and suppliers
- Responsible for key product development projects, provide suggestions and advice on design and module changes to employees within the department
- Recommends, develops and creates new products consistent with pre- determined new product development strategies established by the Company
- Monitors the testing and evaluation of products based on industry best practice and provide guidance and management of the process when necessary
- Ensuring that interaction within internal teams are carried out smoothly and effectively thereby ensuring that quality, price, sustainability and overall look and feel of the product specifications are as per Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) standard
- Check food preparation, cost, quality, quantity and portion control daily
- Regularly identifies and recommends development-oriented cost savings and opportunities
- Responsible for ensure that products offered by QACC are aligned with brand values and are of high standard
- Carries out extensive product shelf stability research for clients while staying within food cost guidelines
- Works closely with the food purchaser to source all new ingredients, packaging, supplies, and special equipment that may be needed with each new item introduced into the manufacturing pipeline
- Responsible for ensure that documentation and process flow of all products right through its initiation stage until product implementation
- Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives
- Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans,procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed
- Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop, and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery
- Train Qatari staff in the duties above
- Perform other department duties related to his/ her position as directed by the head of the Department
- Responsible to ensure that employees at all levels understand work health and safety requirements and expectations through provision of relevant Qatar Airways group induction, information, instruction, training and supervision
- Ensure that all managers and supervisors understand work health and safety requirements and expectations to the extent that they can pass on relevant information, identify training needs and provide appropriate supervision in their workplace

Requirements

- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
- Previous experience in product development role
- Experience in Customer services related field and Proven experience in product development is an asset.
- Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
- Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork among team members

A minimum of 8 years of job-related experience required
