Job description / Role
• Reviewing plans for new products and making recommendations for the selection of materials based on design objectives, such as heat resistance, strength, weight and cost
• Conducting tests on raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
• Preparing budgets and proposals, write reports and analyze labor costs and ensure all projects remain within budget
• Analyzing product issues and failure data to better understand the causes of problems and developing better and more innovative solutions
• Guiding and supervising technical staff members during the material development process and ensuring work is done correctly and safely
• Consulting with corporate executives and other engineering professionals as necessary to plan and assess new projects and their objectives
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in materials engineering or a related engineering field
• 10+ years of experience in materials engineering
• Experience in working on site
• Good knowledge of CAD preferred
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong computer abilities
