Our client is a global Property Development firm who are world renowned for the development of iconic mega projects worldwide. Their key project is a city project that extends across 38 square kilometres and includes four exclusive islands and 19 multi-purpose residential, mixed use, entertainment and commercial districts. This is a comprehensive arena of leisure spots, residential buildings, commercial towers, avenues and public ports. This city will accommodate 200,000 residents and 170,000 employees and 80,000 visitors. They now seek to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to oversee the Mechanical Design and Engineering activities for villas, low rise and high rise towers within this development.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, Technical Services, this role is responsible to:
- Review and approve all mechanical designs for villas, low-rise, high rise towers submitted by the sub-developers.
- Coordinate with Electrical Engineer to ensure the mechanical connected load and diversified loads do not exceed the overall allocated Electrical loads.
- Ensuring all sub-developer designs are in accordance with Kahramaa, Ashghal and Civil Defence codes, standards and specifications.
- Implement the project quality plan, and quality procedures and productivity related to all sub-developer mechanical works submittals.
- Assist in designing the process for execution of engineering activities related to all types of mechanical systems.
- Performs engineering tasks efficiently.
- Provides technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers and Engineers working on the same project.
- Oversees and manage the interface with local agencies to coordinate design standards usage and monthly approvals process.
- Maintains awareness of the project mechanical specifications, drawings and design criteria.
- Provides regular reports on progress to the City Administration Complex Head of Engineering Technical Services.

Requirements

- Bachelor of Science – Mechanical Engineering (4-year degree or equivalent).
- Certification and Registration as an Engineer Grade A in the State of Qatar is preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience working within a design consultancy.
- Experienced in building services mechanical design within villas, low-rise, high rise residential and office towers to include: chilled water distribution, Air Cooled Chillers, Centrifugal Chillers, Air Handling Units, Ventilation Systems, Air Ducting, Fire Systems (various wet and dry), staircase pressurization fans, sanitary systems, elevators, etc.).
- Knowledge and experience with the design of large scale mechanical systems and infrastructure.
- Experience and knowledge of Civil Defence requirements and able to coordinate these requirements in relation to the above building services equipment.
- Experienced in the interfacing of mechanical equipment with electrical control systems for normal operation or for emergency operation such as fire or other emergency condition.
- Excellent computer skills and project management skills.
- Analytical ability and ability to work independently and as a team.
- Experience working in Qatar or GCC preferred.
