Job description / Role
Mergers & Acquisitions Manager – Qatar
Linum Consult’s client is a major international company that works within the energy sector. They are currently seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions Manager to be based in their Doha office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Developing and refining the company’s M&A strategy in line with their overall business goals, identifying potential acquisition targets or merger partners that will deliver value and competitive advantage
• Managing all stages of the M&A process, from initial screening of potential targets to transaction closing and post-merger integration
• Facilitating communication between all stakeholders, target company leaders, and external advisors, ensuring alignment and addressing any concerns during the M&A process
• Leading the preparation of reports on the progress of ongoing M&A activities
• Coordinating with the Finance and Legal teams to execute M&A transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and that business and financial targets are met
• Collaborating closely with the Business Development Manager to gather reports and perform detailed analyses of market conditions in the EMEA, APAC, and Americas regions, aiming to enhance the accuracy of financial projections and analyses
Requirements:
• Degree qualification in Finance, Engineering, or Economics, ideally with an MBA
• At least 12 years’ experience in an M&A role within the energy/power sector, either working directly for a multinational energy company or for a top-tier management consulting firm
• Excellent understanding of power/energy and water sectors, particular renewable assets, emerging trends, technologies, and key players
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with key stakeholders, senior executives, management teams, and external partners/advisors
• Previous experience of working internationally, preferably in the Middle East/Qatar
