Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The purpose of this position is to manage the ongoing development, configuration and maintenance of the Maintenance Management System (MMS) for it to accommodate organizational processes and requirements to effectively control and manage the maintenance, reporting and procurement activities of Qatar Rail.

Structure and reporting relationship:
This role sits with the Engineering & Maintenance team, reporting to Head of Engineering.

Key accountabilities
• Formulate and implement the administration and management of the Maintenance Management System, including its development. Management System, including its development
• Review the existing workflows and implement system and workflow enhancements to benefit the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance delivery
• Administration of the software application consists of Maintenance Management System, including; provision of user’s support, modification of report formats, modification of workflows, and enhancement of functionalities and applications
• Supervise and oversee all aspects of maintenance procedures, instructions and technical specifications on MMS, disaster recovery plans, system backup schedules and configuration control to meet the availability standard setup by RAMS
• Implement appropriate changes in the system configuration and programming scripts to fulfil any changes in the Clients’ needs or requirements
• Capture and integrate critical business processes into the MMS
• Conduct feasibility studies to identify elements across the organization which may benefit from a migration to the MMS
• The first point of technical contact with regards to additional requirements from the MMS
• Regularly meet with other departments in the organization to collate usage feedback and identify any specific additional requirements
• Engage and interface with the system provider under any service level agreement for provision of user’s support and maintenance service
• In an emergency, as a result of catastrophic and long-lasting equipment failure, respond to site as required
• Provide training, support and guidance on MMS use and first-line response, especially for newly developed applications and functionalities on the outcome of any configuration changes
• With the support of the MMS Technician, implement the changes to the MMS required as a result of asset configuration change
• Delivery departmental induction and all necessary training for users to become competent in their role utilizing the MMS in conjunction with the Training Department and relevant organizational department
• Complete annual and mid-year appraisals and identify any sub-standard performance or behaviour and ensure corrective action through employee development plans
• Responsible in conducting and implementing company procedures, not limited to disciplinary, grievance and managing attendance procedures
• Ensure that employees understand how they contribute to departmental and organisational goals
• Comply with all Serco SMS Policies and Standard Operating Procedures and all local regional orcontract related policies and procedures
• Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the Head of Engineering

Requirements

• Ideally a Degree holder or High diploma in an Information Technology or Engineering subject area
• Or alternatively demonstrate a minimum of 6 years technical and process orientated life-cycle development of a Maximo system implemented within a rail maintenance environment
• Training programme certified in SQL programming, database development and administration

Essential technical, professional skills, knowledge and essential experiences
• Working knowledge and experience in deploying and administering a web based enterprise platform for MMS
• Familiar with software behaviour, system and software architectures, directory and file structure, good working knowledge of operating systems, detailed knowledge of system and software functionalities
• Ability to write technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required
• Ability to work on his/her own initiative and demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving strategies
• Possesses good communication skills, has the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and is able to work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, engineers, clients and contractors
• Highly motivated and flexibility to work in a time-sensitive environment to respond quickly and effectively to unanticipated high workloads
• Possesses strong logical and deductive reasoning skills, ability to think laterally and analyse and assess a range of information
• Has the ability to formulate creative solutions in integrating external processes into a CMMS environment
• Proficiency in SQL programming and Microsoft Excel macros
• Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and ability to handle multiple priorities
• Holds a valid UAE driving license with good driving skill and experience
• Minimum 6 years relevant work experience in design, configuration and administration of a computer based Maximo Maintenance Management Systems (MMS). Prior exposure to a project environment is desirable
