Job overview

About us

Doha College is one of the world’s leading British international schools. Proudly not-for-profit, we have been named as one of the top hundred private schools in the world in both the prestigious Spear’s School Index and the Carfax Index and are Qatar’s sole entry in both lists. Our examination results at (I)GCSE and A-Level are amongst the best of any school of our type globally.

Our commitment to supporting your career is matched by our dedication to your well-being, with an innovative instructional coaching approach designed to ensure all teachers, however experienced, continue to learn, and are helped to become the very best they can be. We also have a comprehensive induction and orientation programme, which allows new staff to effectively navigate the challenges that come with an international move. Our free on-site crèche for primary-aged children ensures that working parents are supported and staff representation on our Board of Governors helps to shape the future strategic direction of the school.

Best of all, our vibrant international student community is a delight to work with, and our innovative approach encourages everyone at the College to bring with them ideas and a willingness to try new things.

If you are interested in joining our inspiring team which values your personal and professional growth - and you will bring a commitment to the highest standards, positivity, kindness and warmth - we very much look forward to receiving your application.

The opportunity

We are looking to appoint an experienced and dynamic music teacher to join us ASAP.

About you

Applicants should have a degree in music/performance (e.g. BEd, BMus, BA), and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, iQTS) is essential. Candidates without these qualifications will not be considered. You should be a highly motivated and successful practitioner who is willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the music department and wider College life. This is a great opportunity for a music teacher to join our department and further develop their career.

Qatar

A combination of old-world hospitality and cosmopolitan sophistication means that Qatar is a country like no other, and its capital Doha is a city that has something for everyone. Performances, museums, and galleries make for a captivating cultural scene; city hotspots such as the busy markets and the waterfront promenade are a great way to spend a day; there is a lively night-life that means that there is plenty to do when the sun goes down; the Pearl Qatar offers luxury and elegance; there are some breath-taking areas of natural beauty, and lovers of sport and adventure can enjoy numerous clubs and activities.

Whether you will be looking to move with your family or to come on your own, you are guaranteed a warm welcome.

In return

Our tax-free salary and benefits package is recognised as one of the best in the Middle East. We also have a comprehensive induction and orientation programme, which allows new staff to effectively navigate the challenges that come with an international move. Valuing the importance of recruiting and retaining the best staff, the professional development offered at Doha College is significant. We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers who have relevant experience and excellent references.

Application closing date is: 14 August 2025

We reserve the right to close a position once we have received sufficient applications to form a shortlist. We expect to receive a high number of applications, and it will not be possible to respond to every applicant. Should you not hear from us within 7 days of the closing date you have not been successful this time, but we thank you for your interest. Furthermore, we encourage interested candidates to apply early as we reserve the right to begin interviewing before the stated closing date.

Doha College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including reference checks with previous employers and a criminal records check. Teaching staff will also be subject to a Barred List and Prohibition from Teaching Check. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.

As an equal opportunities employer, Doha College is committed to a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion. We believe that a diverse staff body reflects and supports the diversity of our students and wider society and leads to a cognitive diversity that promotes excellence in all areas.
