Officer Transport Support & Logistics - Qatar Airways - Doha

You will be responsible for enabling a well – organised day-to-day operations in support of Transportation Department operational, continuous improvement, and administrative objects providing a safe, clean, reliable, efficient, timely, and highly customer orientated transport service to meet and or exceed all customers expectation and satisfaction.

You will be required to supervise and mentor a small team of company transport professionals along with 3PL Supplier dispatchers and drivers either on 12 hour shifts or normal office working hours. You will be expected to provide suggestions that will enhance the transport service deliverables through continuous improvement initiatives. You will be the single point of contact for management and customers to provide real-time solutions to resolve minor issues that may occur during your shift, and or initiate escalations to management when a situation warrants to be escalated. You will communicate all operational difficulties, unsatisfactory company staff and 3PL Supplier personnel performances, and customer observations to the department management. You will ensure accuracy and completion of all data entry procedures and/or reports that pertain to daily shift transport operations and assist in the development of IT resources in support of the transport business.

Requirements

You should hold a Bachelor Degree or equivalent with minimum 5 years of job related experience. You should have experience dealing with the third party logistic suppliers and working in a multicultural environment. You should have passenger transport operations and fleet management experience which includes maintenance planning & liaison, customer processing, route delivery procedures along with the security and operational procedures. You should also have experience working with Transportation Management Systems that include but not limited to real-time vehicle GPS tracking, auto-dispatching, In-vehicle Monitoring Systems (IVMS), Mobile Data Terminals (MDT), and multiple system interfaces.

We are looking for someone with good knowledge of vehicle maintenance planning, vehicle and driver planning and scheduling with an understanding of State of Qatar road transport laws and regulations. You should have the ability to set clear direction, supervise workflow and a good team player. You must have intermediate or higher knowledge on MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
