The Planning Manager will be responsible to manage all aspects of the planning, scheduling and reporting activities pertaining to the delivery of a large Program in Qatar
The position is responsible for implementing all the tasks related to planning, scheduling and reporting consistently across the Programme.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

- Develop / update, improve and implement plans, procedures, standards and systems for all the planning, scheduling and reporting related tasks
- Prepare and maintain project work break down structure and integrated master schedule for the Programme
- Prepare and maintain consistent progress measurement system with in Programme
- Support in identifying, developing, and improving plans, procedures, standards and systems for the Planning department
- Support in developing / updating and implementing appropriate KPIs for the Program
- Analyse and report on the Consultant's and Contractor's schedules and progress reports
- Perform critical path analysis of schedules
- Prepare independent risk analysis of Consultant's and Contractor's Schedules
- Ensure that approved Baseline Schedule is followed by all the entities involved and the Projects complete with in the budgeted time and cost
- Prepare reports to the senior management with in client pertaining to schedules
- Analyse and report on the Consultant's and Contractor's Extension of Time Claims
- Work with the members of the team and the other departments of client to make sure schedule obligations are met with in order to complete the Project on time
- The establishment of collaborative internet enabled tools for working efficiently with consultants, contractors and other external agencies
- Support in establishing tools and systems that allow lessons learned to be captured from constructing projects, and use this intelligence to alter the process, tools and systems in order to improve the approach to deliver the upcoming projects

Requirements

Candidate Specification

Essential Candidate Requirements:

- Minimum of 15 years post graduate experience with experience in major infrastructure projects or programmes; out of which a minimum of 5 years in management role.
Preference will be given to roads, aviation, structures or rail related experience
- Relevant Professional membership
- Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multidisciplinary projects
- Experienced user of Primavera P6, and MS Office
- Sound knowledge of planning and scheduling of roads and infrastructure projects
- Sound knowledge of different contract forms, e.g. FIDIC
- Experience in working on latest planning tools and techniques
- Experience in risk management tools and techniques, e.g. Predict
- Experience in successfully managing a team of planners
- Sound Knowledge of Extension of Time Claim analysis
- Experience of working in GCC Countries especially in Qatar
- In-depth knowledge of project claims and contractual support
- A "rounded profile", comfortable with planning, analysis and managing process (the successful candidate will also be able to mobilise people and teams and by their leadership skills lead teams and secure successful deliverables)
- Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures, both internally and with various project stakeholders
